CLUB PROFILE

Established in 1973, the club has become well known both locally and nationally for the high standard of its photographic work. There is a wide range of abilities from beginners to experienced photographers..

The club is affiliated to The Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (the PAGB) through the East Anglian Federation of Photographic Societies (the EAF) which has some 120 member clubs. The club is well represented in the EAF with two of its founder members serving on the EAF Committee and one having served as President of the EAF.

Our club meets each Tuesday evening at 7.30 pm in term time from September to May at Lode Chapel, Lode. It is therefore well positioned to serve the local community, attracting members from Cambridge, Newmarket, Mildenhall, Soham and beyond, as well as all the villages in between. It has a friendly atmosphere and new members are made welcome and beginners are given any assistance needed.

Annual Subscriptions are: Adult £27.00, Husband/Wife £45.00, Student £11.00, plus a weekly fee of 50p. Visitors are welcome for a small charge of £2.00 (including refreshments) which is subsequently refunded on joining the club.

Throughout the year the club invites guest speakers to give lectures on a wide range of topics from photographic techniques and printing through to digital presentations. The club has hosted lectures by renowned photographers including Heather Angel, an international Nature Photographer.

The club also runs a range of both internal and inter-club competitions, in digital images, colour or black & white prints, and has represented the EAF in the national finals held at Warwick University, competing against 14 other Federations of the PAGB.
